Cookie Policy
Last updated 2026-10-13
Draft. This document is being finalised with our legal advisers before the platform opens to real trading. It is published so you can see how we intend to operate.
This page tells you what we store on your device and why. It is short because we store very little: one thing for everyone, and a second only while you finish a two-step sign-in, needed to run the platform. We set no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.
What we store, exactly
A sign-in cookie (better-auth.session_token). It keeps you signed in as you move between pages — without it, every page would ask you to sign in again. It lasts 7 days, or until you sign out.
A second sign-in cookie (better-auth.two_factor), set only for an account that uses two-step sign-in, between your password and your code. It lasts 10 minutes at most.
That is the complete list. If it ever grows, this page changes before the new one is set.
Why we do not ask your permission for these
The rules let a website store something without consent when it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Regulatory guidance gives authentication and security as examples of exactly that, and ours are in that category: they sign you in.
We could show you a banner asking permission for cookies we would set regardless. We think that is worse than useless — it trains people to click past a question that changes nothing, and it makes the real question, if we ever have one, look like the same noise. So this page tells you rather than asking you.
What we do not use
No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. No third-party analytics.
We do measure how the platform is used, but that measurement is written to our own database as part of running the service. It does not put a tracker on your device and it does not involve a third party.
If that ever changes
If we add anything beyond the two above we will ask first, and refusing will be as easy as accepting. Nothing non-essential can be set before you say yes: the consent gate refuses every category by default, including when no choice has been recorded and when a recorded choice was made against an older version of this policy.
Managing them yourself
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies the platform cannot keep you signed in, and you will not be able to use your account.
